Randy Travis，新传统主义(New Traditional Country)的代表人物，格莱美最佳乡村男歌手。

一种回归到艺术性和音乐性比形象更重要的时代的音乐风格。新传统主义在早期的乡村音乐中找寻灵感，而且是以后颇为大家所知的新乡村音乐(New Country)的先驱。Ricky Skaggs，一个难得的天才，受Bill Monroe和Ralph Stanley的启发，他超越了当时所有的艺人，并把乡村乐带回了它的根。不仅传统得以发扬、创造，而且还很受欢迎。Skaggs不是孤独的，象Randy Travis凭借优美的旋律和精致的声线把寻传统主义带道了乡村音乐的前端。根据统计，在近10年里，Randy的唱片销售成绩达到了1300万。80年代的中后期，因为Randy Travis在新传统乡村音乐领域的上佳表现，他先后获得了5次格莱美大奖、六次乡村音乐协会大奖、九次乡村音乐学院大奖、10次全美音乐大奖，并且把自己的名字和手印留在了好莱坞星光大道上。

2001年Randy的专辑"Inspirational Journey"赢得了Dove颁奖礼上的年度最佳兰草专辑，同时单曲"Baptism"也获得了年度最佳乡村歌曲。

2003年Randy获得了基督教乡村音乐协会颁发的年度主流乡村艺人的奖项。同年，他的专辑"Rise And Shine"在Dove颁奖礼上赢得了年度最佳乡村专辑，单曲"Three Wooden Crosses"赢得了基督教乡村协会评出的年度最佳歌曲。"Three Wooden Crosses"也获得了2003CMA颁奖礼上的年度最佳歌曲。

2004年Randy的专辑"Rise And Shine"再次获得荣誉——Grammy最佳南方、乡村、兰草、福音专辑。他的单曲"Three Wooden Crosses"获得了CMA年度最佳歌曲以及Dove年度最佳乡村唱片歌曲。这一年，Randy的传统圣歌专辑"Worship & Faith"也赢得了Dove年度最佳乡村专辑。

2005年对Randy来说也是相当有意义的一年。专辑"Worship & Faith"赢得了Grammy最佳南方、乡村、兰草、福音专辑，同时被提名Dove年度最佳乡村专辑。Randy的最新专辑"Passing Through"是一张不错的乡村收藏，其中的灵感歌曲适合社会各个阶层的人去聆听。
